week 35

Technically at this time, I am in week 36. I won't get ahead of myself, though, and finish up to week 35 first, as this may be the longest post ever on my blog.

35 weeks!

Feeling: I think I'm going about this all wrong. I started this writing all the things I'm feeling that are negative, or things I can't (temporarily) do anymore. If Harlee were to read this one day, would I really want her to read that I can barely tie my shoes because she's in the way, that trying to bend over to switch the laundry is a pain in the ass, or trying to pick out an outfit to wear to work is harder everyday? No, I'd want her to know that she's loved, that every time she moves, I know it means she's healthy and just trying to make herself comfortable in a small space, and {hopefully} moving towards that optimal position for a successful birth.

It's cool how I can feel her learning new things, or maybe she's been doing the same things all along, just now she's bigger and I can feel it. Somehow she managed to find my ribs, so what I'm assuming are her feet, are now poking and kicking and cartwheeling on the insides of my rib cage like a tiny dancer.

How do you concentrate, like, ever, when there's a little life inside of you for which, at this point, I'm solely responsible? She's my little partner in crime, my sweet remora, a little internal cheerleader. Everything I think about revolves around her. We have such a unique connection, me and her.

love this print. From here.

Not feeling: This whole "peeing every 20 minutes thing" is super annoying, I could live without that.

Weight Gain: 25 lbs as of week 35.

Projects: Been finishing up a lot of things around here. I've been gung-ho about the nursery, thinking she's going to be here any minute now, apparently. I absolutely loved putting away everything we so generously received at our baby shower, organizing all her clothes by size (of course), shopping for the few things I still needed.

Planning: For her arrival! 4 weeks to go! (Hopefully less... I could definitely go for less). Patrick figured out the carseat, I put together the bassinet on the bugaboo stroller and it's cute.

Best thing this week:
Week 32: Our maternity photo shoot!
Week 33: Our baby shower! I decided I didn't want to be the huge pregnant lady, opening gifts and sweating in front of 30 women and playing games that aren't really all that fun, so we opted for an open house couples party. I am so glad we did. Good food, good friends, and Patrick ended up with some good pictures from the day.

Kade, being all super cute.

My BFF and her fam.

my super supportive mother-in-law with her mommy <3

Adorable baby Emmett

CrossFit friends... such a blessing to have amazing people to work out with everyday!

And some good friends from high school / college. Special thanks to Josh for coming all the way from Naples and helping with shower setup!!

... the only picture of me and Patrick that day.

one of my sisters and her daughter, who (obviously) won the prize for the "don't say baby" game.

Find some more pictures on instragram under #apartyforharlee !

Week 34: Enjoying a hike out in Jonathan Dickenson with our first borns.

Week 35: I'm just thankful I didn't have the baby at week 35 as it was Patrick's last week of work travel for a few months!

Workouts: Stepped it back to CrossFit about 3x a week, plus some walks. Modifying just about everything at this point. You freaking try strapping a medicine ball to your stomach and doing a WOD. It's just difficult - my goal is to keep moving and keep active! I always feel so much better after I wake up and just go.

the hubby, being all awesome.
