First Home Tour

Welcome to our little piece of the world! Forgive my less-than-perfect pictures, and let us remember the late nights, busted fingers, paint in our hair, backaches and blown budgets with this tribute to our hard work and our first home. .... And at this point, on the market near Panama City, folks ;)

Front view. See some progress posts here and here.

View from front door to dining room & living room. I never did write that "tearing out the stupid ugly wall" post, but check out update 1 and update 2 for some "before" shots.

Our dining area from the living room side. pre-new front door. I am kind of in love with our Ikea light, $28 thrift store table, and Target chairs. Oh and somehow I started becoming obsessed with bridges, hence the skyline+bridge painting.

a nighttime picture and from a different angle, but it's easier to see how the kitchen
opens up to the living room.

Living room.
See some progress posts before we removed the wall, and some more herehere, and here.

Guest Bedroom (see what I did for a headboard/frame for that bed!)

I suppose I never did write about how we made our own platform bed (sans headboard), how that chest was my grandfather's from WWII, and the fact that I am awesome and used no-sew curtains from Ikea. Maybe next time.

Our shed! This is the color I wanted to paint our house. Enlisting the help of some family, we built this in about two weekends, which was great, because we were able to get everything out of the old den and finally turn it into our living room.

Back porch that we extended, and awesome green bar cart that I broke the glass on and is kinda-sorta still usable. We'll see if it makes the move down to Boca.

We have definitely lived and learned in this home, and we hope that someone who will love it as much as we do will get the chance to call it home next!
